Make Up Forever Mascara | June We Are Onyx Box

So, Too Faced Better Than Sex, is my holy grail mascara, but I think I have found another one that is comparable. I am loving the whole make up sample thing because for a small price (or sometimes free) you can try out a product before you buy the full size. Especially when it comes to higher end products. I got a birthday sample a couple of weeks ago from Sephora from Make Up Forever and I am really loving their mascara called Smoky Extravagant!!! It really makes my lashes POP which is what I look for in any mascara that I wear.

And after all the drama I had last month and this month trying to get last months Onyx Box, guess who go their box in June!!! This girl right here.

I have used the dry mist oil from C. Booth and it smells and feels great so I really like so far. And the nail polish that I got from Lauren B. Beauty is my new love. I love red nail polish and this is a new favorite :)

Summer Skin Care | Mascara Trials | We Are Onyx | Fitness

Now that summer is here in LA--especially in the valley--I have changed up my moisturizing products just a tad. Especially since I am working out a lot more, I find that my face feels more hot when I have on heavier moisturizers so I had to find an alternative. The change is very small, I just took out the St. Ives moisturizer and made the Maracuja Oil from Tarte more of a daily staple than what it has been in the past. Plus I am trying, like really really trying, to NOT buy anymore beauty products until I have used up a significant amount of what I already have.

I am still loving the gel moisturizer from Garnier Fructis. I am still in love with my Better Than Sex Mascara from Too Faced. The roll on perfume I got as a gift during Christmas and I have recently started using it. I am finding that roll on perfumes are convenient to carry and its really hard to use too much. Plus I like to rub some of it on right before I go to sleep. I want to get some roll ons by Marc Jacobs, but I have to use what I have first!

See what had happened was...

And I know I said I was done buying stuff until I use what I have, (but in my defense this is a trial sized product that I got from Sephora. I am going on a cruise to the Bahamas next week and I need small items to bring with me so I decided to try this out. I have tried it out already and its a winner because it doesn't leave my skin feeling stripped. Plus it smells nice which is always good. So this is coming on the trip! Expect to see a travel essentials post next week before I leave!

I got this sample mascara pack from Sephora as well. If I could only wear one one make up item I would always choose mascara. Nothing like finding the one! You guys already know I love my Better Than Sex mascara, but its nice to have options and again, I wanted something small to take with me on my vacation next week. Plus you get a voucher for a full sized mascara so you definitely get your moneys worth (The sample pack from Sephora is $25). Aside from the Too Faced mascara, I have tried the one from Lancome called Hypnose Drama, Tarte's Lights, Camera, Action 4 in 1 and Blinc Inc.'s Blinc. The Blinc mascara was a total bust, but the other two are great. Especially the one from Lancome. I really like that one. I still have to try the Bare Mineral mascara. But so far, I am loving the Lancome mascara.

The May We Are Onyx Box
We are almost halfway into June and I am just NOW getting the May box from We Are Onyx. I have previously sent numerous emails (which were not responded to) and left them messages on their social media accounts about my missing box (which they did respond to several days later). I have had a subscription with them since February 2014 and haven't really had an issue until April when they started their big media campaign to get their name out there. I understand growing businesses have bumps in the road so I wasn't too upset with them in April, but this past month they had serious issues getting their product out in a timely manner to paying customers. Nevertheless, I am going to give it another go and we will see how June goes. But for now, they are getting the side eye.

Finally...

And I am finally loosing some inches!!! I invested in a shredding stack from a company called Just Add Muscle and I am loving the results so far. I am not going to say that my results are strictly due to that, but it has helped me achieve results a lot faster. Being able to see the changes your body has made is definitely making staying motivated a lot easier. What I am currently doing to achieve the results I have is another post entirely. And I promise I will share! Its really easy and its not a diet. I am definitely not left starving everyday. Cant wait to see where I am next month.

Alright ya'll, thats it for now! I have another shoot tomorrow which I am super stoked about. Cheers to taking some awesome photos tomorrow. :)

May Favorites

This month has flown by so fast and I can't believe its almost over. I am definitely happy that I get a little break from school because I need to recharge. For my may favorites I am just sharing some pretty basic things, but I have found that I need these almost daily!

These two have been my favorites this month! They are $3.75 at Walmart. The one on the right has this sexy masculine scent that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside! ;)

Trader Joe's Cookie Butter is the TRUTH. I put it on fruit, gelato and in my oatmeal. The amino energy powder I use as my pre workout. It tastes really good, doesn't have that nasty after taste and gives a great buzz!

Some basic beauty essentials that I am loving right now. I am so happy that Sephora made the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette permanent! I love the way it looks on my skin. I will have to make that into another blog post!

Finger Comber Unit: Angle Balanced

So if I ever rock something that is not my hair my go to is twists, but I was feeling a little inspired a few weeks ago to try something new so I invested in a the Finger Comber Angle Balanced Unit….you like???? I know a lot of people have complained about the shipping and how long it takes, but it took about 7 days to get to me from the time I submitted it. So I guess I got them at a good time! I am still trying to figure out how much hair to leave out so it looks more natural, but so far I like it…hope it gets bigger!!!!

I was told by a fellow iger to leave as little out as possible I just have to figure out how to do that and it works more or less. I think I just have to stretch my hair out as much as possible and then blend it with the wig because my texture is a lot tighter than this.

And yes I took quite a few selfies, I was really feeling myself, ok? LOL :)

And I almost forgot--I used the Stila palette: In the Night for the eyes and the Cargo blush from my April OnyxBox…more on that later!!! If you want a tutorial, let a girl know!

March In Review & The Hollywood Marathon!!!!

So March has definitely been a busy and productive month for me!!! I am so glad its over! I successfully completed my statistics class and I hope to never have to do another math class again. It was so mentally draining. Then I had midterms which went pretty well. I actually have another test tomorrow morning, but who is stressing?

And then Sunday I found out that I am running in a 13.1 mile marathon this saturday. I say found out because I thought I signed up for a 3 mile and I was sadly mistaken…all I could do is laugh and I will do it anyways and hope my legs don't fall off and just pray that I am not the last one to come in because that would be kinda embarrassing LOL. I have actually been running these last few weeks…just haven't been running 13 miles!!! Anyways, I think I will be fine. I did the Army 10 miler a few years back and I wasn't running at ALL/doing pt/drinking water and I made it in a little under 3 hours so I think I can crank this one out and hopefully be around that time. I say hopefully because of course yesterday I pulled a muscle and today left knee is starting to hurt, but I think its because the weather is about to get bad…but still, funny how that works.

So I also noticed that I haven't been taking any photos with me in them. I guess its because I am really feeling like I don't look good right now. I am know I am not bad looking, but I need to get out of my rut! I am going to blame it on the weather. Which is horrible right now..and all the earthquakes we have been getting recently.

So I am just going to end this with some photos from this past month

So happy this math class is done!!! I hope to never have to do this again!

Yes I have 4 of the same polish colors!!!! Its my FAVORITE color: Valentine by Revlon

Studying for my quiz :)

DIY- How to do a bentonite clay mask

So if there is ever something that I can do or make myself, I generally do. Especially when it comes to beauty products. I am a super mixtress at home. One of the things I like to treat myself to every week is a bentonite clay mask. Bentonite clay is mostly made up from aged volcanic ash. One pretty cool thing about it is that its known to produce an electrical charge when you add water to it (dont worry though, it doesnt hurt!). Its also known to be an absorbtive clay. The electrical components help draw up and absorb the toxins in your skin (the clay carries a negative charge, while all the toxins and bacteria in your skin have a positive charge).

The recipe (for dry skin):

1. Equal parts clay and oil of your choice. (I use avocado oil, I do 1 teaspoon of each and it makes more than enough)
2. Enough water to make it into a paste. (a little less than 1 tablespoon, if you need more, then just add more water)
3. Leave it on for 10 minutes or until it dries.
4. Rinse with cool water.

***Dont use anything metal when using bentonite clay because it takes away from its effectiveness. I always use a plastic spoon and a plastic or glass bowl when making my mix.

If you dont have dry skin then you can leave out the oil. Otherwise I would suggest adding a moisturizing oil because the mask can be very drying. Also, as its drying you face will feel super tight! I never leave mine on for more than 10 minutes. After I rinse it off my skin feel SO soft and smooth. I always moisturize my skin after. Your skin might be a little red after, but no worries it goes away in 30 minutes or so. Here are some pics that you guys can check out:
